Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson live

Unified World Light Welterweight champion Amir Khan will fight Lamont Peterson at the Washington Convention Center on Decmber 10th. It will be the first big sporting event at the new Convention Center, and a pretty good event to take place in the City of Washington. Khan holds the WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles, and they will both be on the line when he fights Lamont. The fight was announced in London on Oct 6, 2011. According to the Daily Mail, Khan intends to invite both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton to watch the fight.

Amir Khan:
IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO) may have the fight of his life next week against Lamont Peterson, but Khan is still talking about Floyd Mayweather Jr. and likes his chances against Mayweather Jr. Amir Khan is a strong boxer. Amir Iqbal Khan is the real name of this boxer. King Khan is the nickname of this player. Khan also thinks boxing fans are really interested in seeing specifically him fight Mayweather. Why Khan thinks that it’s hard to tell, because he still hasn’t even proven that he’s the best fighter in the light welterweight division and yet he’s been talking about wanting to fight Mayweather for the past year. Khan has stated this could be his last fight at light-welterweight and therefore he needs a spectacular performance to leave the division as the rightful champion. On the line are the WBA and IBF light welterweight titles. "I'm looking forward to returning to the United States to face a worthy challenger like Lamont Peterson," said Khan. "I always said that I wanted to be active and a true World Champion and I will prove it again on December 10. I know Lamont is a strong contender but it doesn't matter that I'm fighting him in his backyard, I'm coming in as the champion and will leave as the champion."

Lamont Peterson:
Former lightweight contender Anthony Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO) will finally be returning to the ring on December 10th on the undercard of the championship bout between IBF/WBA light welterweight title holder Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson at the Convention Center in Washington, DC. Anthony still doesn’t have an opponent picked out yet, but it probably won’t be someone too good because he’s coming off a loss. Anthony Peterson, 26, is the younger brother of Lamont Peterson, and was considered one of the best fighters in the lightweight division until he imploded in his last fight, a 7th round disqualification loss to Brandon Rios last year in September 2010. Peterson was dropped in the 5th round and then lost a point for throwing a low blow in the 6th. In the 7th, he was finally disqualified for throwing low blows. The fact that Anthony Peterson hasn’t fought since losing to Rios a year ago really speaks volumes about how hard this loss may have impacted his career. Hopefully, Anthony has learned some new skills in the year away from boxing and can adapt for his fight on December 10th. If not, he probably won’t go too far.
